We have sent you a letter. Please find below the letter in English. The letter also states your personal contribution. We cannot state that amount here. The amount can be found in the letter.
Dear member,
You have previously accrued pension with Pensioenfonds Rijn- en Binnenvaart (Rhine and Inland Waterway Pension Fund). This pension is lower than €520.35 gross per year. This is why you can have your pension paid out in one go. It is called commutation. If you would like us to pay your pension in one go, please send us your bank account number. You can do this using the form we sent you.
As of 1 February 2022, your pension amounted to:
If you opt to have it paid out monthly in the future
Pension benefits for you from the age of 67 (gross per month): See the amount in the letter
Pension benefits for your partner after you die (gross per month): See the amount in the letter
If you opt to have it paid out in one go
Pension benefits for you and pension benefits for your partner;
together, (gross, one-off): See the amount in the letter
This is expected to be net: See the amount in the letter
All of these amounts may change
The amounts were calculated on 1 February 2022. The amounts may change if the rules for your pension change, if your pension has to be raised or cut, or if the tax legislation changes.
Please note:
Once we have paid you your pension in full, you will no longer receive pension benefits from our fund, nor will your partner be entitled to a partner’s pension after you die. It is important to bear this in mind. Discuss it with your partner if you have one, or with your financial consultant if applicable.
Being paid out in one go may not be beneficial for you
Other income may be reduced if you have your pension paid out in one lump sum. Here we have in mind other benefits that you get or tax allowances. Check with your benefits agency and/or the tax authorities.
Do you live abroad? Then please send a completed attestation de vita
This ‘proof of life’ or attestation de vita is attached to the letter you received. Ask the municipality where you live to complete it for you. Send the attestation de vita together with the completed form.
If you have a Dutch citizen service number, then send the form anyway
When we pay your pension benefits, we withhold more tax. Your net payment will be less than what is stated in your letter.
If you would like to get back part of the withheld tax from the Dutch tax authorities via your tax return, then make sure you get a Dutch citizen service number. For this, you register as a non-resident. You can do this at a municipality with a non-residents registration desk. These municipalities have a non-residents registration desk.
We are obliged to deduct tax (payroll taxes) from your pension in the Netherlands, but you may already be paying tax in your country of residence
To avoid paying double taxation, you can apply for exemption from the payroll taxes in the Netherlands. For this, use the exemption certificate issued by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.
If you respond before the end of the month, then we will pay out on the 23rd of the following month
You will then get your pension amount into your account as a one-off payment. If the 23rd is a weekend or a public holiday, then we pay out on the working day prior to that.
