Money usually becomes worth slightly less each year. With the same amount of money you can buy slightly less in 2017 than in 2016. For that reason Stichting Bedrijfspensioenfonds voor de Rijn- en Binnenvaart tries to increase your accrued pension by an annual percentage. This ensures that your accrued pension rises each year in keeping with inflation. This is referred to as an index-linked pension. We make every effort to ensure that your pension keeps pace with annual inflation. If things go less well financially, Stichting Bedrijfspensioenfonds voor de Rijn- en Binnenvaart may be unable to grant an increase or full increase. This results in your pension losing value. If things pick up again financially, it may be possible to increase your pension by an extra amount.
In recent years we have raised our members' pensions as follows*:
* The figures on the price rises are based on the figures of Statistics Netherlands.
The regulations set out precisely what you will receive in our pension scheme. The regulations can be downloaded here (in Dutch).
